Independent equity research on the AI value chain: memory and logic semiconductors at the core, with the infrastructure, and defense names the same capital cycle pulls into scope.
The work is built to be graded. Every report publishes a fair-value band, names the assumptions the thesis depends on, and commits the exit conditions before publication, not after the fact.
PhD in business administration; formerly of KCGS, the institute behind Korea's corporate governance code. Coverage spans US and Korean listings in both directions — including both sides of the same company's dual listing.
Coverage: Semiconductors | AI Infrastructure | Healthcare | Defense | Materials
I am a fundamental equity analyst. My coverage centers on the AI value chain, with semiconductors as the primary focus and adjacent work on AI infrastructure, and defense; healthcare and materials names enter coverage when a specific valuation dislocation warrants the work.
Every report is written to be graded after the fact. Each one publishes a fair-value band rather than a point target, an explicit entry range and downside scenario, and exit conditions committed before publication. Valuation runs on through-cycle DCF, replacement cost, and segment-aware sum-of-the-parts, built from primary filings, earnings transcripts, and segment-level peer comparisons — and where a security's structure matters as much as the business, as with dual listings, the structure is priced separately and said so.
Prior to independent research, I was an Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS), the capital markets institute behind the country's corporate governance code and the ratings used in Korea Exchange thematic indices, where I covered 2,500+ listed companies and led a six-person research team.
I graduated in three years with a BA in Economics and Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned an MS and PhD in Business Administration from Seoul National University, where my research examined equity valuation, M&A, and the effect of disclosure on firm value.
